Types of Business Entities
Foreign investors have several options when establishing a presence in Egypt, each with distinct advantages and regulatory requirements.
Limited Liability Company (LLC)
The most common form for foreign investors. Requires minimum capital of EGP 1,000 and at least two shareholders. Limited liability protection for shareholders.
Joint Stock Company
Suitable for larger investments. Minimum capital of EGP 250,000 (EGP 1 million for companies offering shares to the public). At least three founders required.
Branch Office
Foreign companies can establish branch offices to conduct business activities in Egypt. The parent company remains fully liable for the branch's obligations.
